Clark Detention Release Paths
The Clark County Detention Center is the county’s primary adult booking and detention facility. Its official site points to a JailTracker inmate list. That list answers a narrow question: who appears to be held now. It does not publish a verified 24-hour or 72-hour release archive. When a name vanishes, describe the person only as absent from the current roster until another source names the event.
A community exit may follow recognizance, bond, dismissal, time served, probation, or another court release order. A sentenced person may instead move into Kentucky Department of Corrections custody while remaining in a county-jail bed or going to a prison. Federal, immigration, hospital, and other-jail transfers are also possible. Transfer means custody continues. It is not a community release, even though the Clark roster may no longer display the record.
| Possible exit | Best confirming source |
|---|---|
| Bond, dismissal, or time served | Clark jail custody record, VINE result, and court order |
| KDOC transfer | KOOL status and current location |
| State sentence release | KDOC Daily Releases report plus KOOL |
| Federal or ICE transfer | Legal custodian’s system or records channel |
Confirm Clark Detention Release
Begin with stable identifiers: full legal name, date of birth, booking number, case number, and an approximate custody range. Check the official Clark inmate-list frame only for present custody. If the person is absent, search Kentucky through VINELink. A matching local record that says “not in custody” and supplies a release date is affirmative evidence from the source system. A blank result is not.
- Match the identity, not just a similar name.
- Compare the local-jail VINE record with any separate DOC record.
- Search the Clark case in Guest CourtNet for bond, dismissal, sentence, probation, or transfer events.
- Call the jail when exact release time or type matters.
- Request the existing booking and release record if online sources remain unclear.
A court order can authorize release before jail staff complete the required checks and paperwork. For that reason, an order time and the physical door-exit time need not match. The full Clark County released-inmate search explains how to branch when the next custodian is KDOC, BOP, USMS, or ICE.
Clark Detention Release Records
The jail’s official pages do not publish a dedicated open-records form, a verified local copy-fee schedule, or public records-office hours. Call first to confirm the current custodian, accepted submission method, hours, and cost. Ask for an existing booking and release record or custody history, not an explanation created for the request.

A focused request should identify the person, date of birth, booking number if known, and a narrow date range. Request the booking date and time, release or transfer date and time, release code or type, releasing authority, and receiving agency if maintained and public. Ask for the booking photograph as a separate record. Kentucky law generally requires an agency response within five business days, but that is not a promise that every responsive record will be produced within five days. Redaction or withholding may apply to protected material.
Clark Detention Bond Release
The official bond information draws a local line between clerk-hour and after-hour processing. Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., bonds are handled through the Circuit Clerk at the Governor James Clark Judicial Center, 17 Cleveland Avenue. Property bonds and cash bonds over $9,999.99 also go through the clerk. Confirm current terms before travel.
When the clerk is closed, including weekends and holidays, the official instructions direct the payer to CCDC. Valid identification and exact cash are required because the jail does not make change. The facility page also states a $25 bond filing fee. Payment or judicial approval starts processing; it does not prove the person has walked out. Staff may still have records checks, other holds, and discharge steps to complete.
The official facility page shown here provides the local contact context for that handoff.

Clark Detention Roster Limits
The current list can show identity, booking data, charges, arresting agency, bond, and a booking image when a record is published. Those are booking and custody facts. They are not a durable release history. Clark County has not published a verified post-release retention promise for the roster, nor a distinct official release application.
The official roster wrapper appears in this captured view.

For a former detainee’s photograph, request the image tied to the identified booking. Do not assume that an image once seen on the live list must remain online. Public access and downstream reuse are separate issues, and sealed, expunged, juvenile, medical, victim, or investigative material may be restricted.
Clark Release Court Check
Clark District and Circuit divisions share the Judicial Center but use separate phone lines. District Court generally handles misdemeanors and preliminary felony stages. Circuit Court handles indicted felony cases. A felony path can therefore cross both divisions. Follow the case number and indictment rather than treating the first appearance as the final event.
Contact Circuit at 859-737-7264 or District at 859-737-7141, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Ask the clerk for the signed bond, dismissal, sentence, shock-probation, revocation, or release order when its wording matters. CourtNet helps locate the event, while the clerk holds the individual case record. A court order explains legal authority; the jail custody record is stronger for the exact physical exit time.
Clark Detention Program Records
The detention center lists church services, Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, GED, life skills, 24/7 Dad, and parenting programs. These are verified in-custody programs. Participation does not establish that a release occurred, does not prove that sentence credit was awarded, and does not promise enrollment after release.
If the person became a state offender, use KOOL and the written sentence calculation for any credit question. If release led to supervision in Clark County, use the District 8 office and the person’s written supervision plan. Keeping these sources separate avoids turning a helpful facility program list into an unsupported release or reentry claim.
Release Verification Notes
Record the date and time of every check. A VINE status can update on a different schedule from a roster, and a court event can appear before discharge processing ends. When sources disagree, supply the full name, date of birth, booking or offender number, and case number. Ask whether custody continues, whether a public release or transfer date is available, and which office holds the existing record. This sequence prevents a transfer to KDOC, USMS, ICE, another county, or a hospital from being mislabeled as return to the community.
Keep the source’s own terms. Released, transferred, not in custody, probation, and parole do not mean the same thing. If the exact event remains unavailable, state that the public sources did not resolve it. That is more accurate than filling the gap with a guess.
